Belonging

Good Day Beloved,

Well, another week gone. What have you been pondering? I have been thinking about belonging. We all “belong” to different groups that we have no control over. We don’t choose the family we are born or adopted into, the race or class or religion. As we age we begin to make choices. Family of choice, workplace, religion, college, life partner. Some of us have a voice in these things. We long to belong don’t we? I believe this is because that is how we were created. You can think as you wish but these are MY thoughts, right.

The other day someone asked if I was mobbed when I went back to work by people who were glad to see me. That sounded really weird to me. I generally don’t think of myself as someone whom others make a point of talking to even if it is just to say “hi”. I don’t understand having friends or being a friend. I have not ever been very good at the friend thing.

I realized that I do belong in my own way. People seemed glad to have me back at work, which is really nice. Of course when I get home from work my dog is beside herself to see me. I know, I know, that might be grasping at straws but it works for me.

Beloved, please be encouraged to think about how you belong. If it is difficult like it is for me, try to take comfort that you belong to the Creator. He longs to swoop you up and keep you safe and warm under His wings.

Beloved, have a lovely….

In His Service and Yours
