Reconditioning Center

Hello Beloved,

On a walk with my pup the other day I noticed for the first time the title words on the side of a building. My first thought told me I watch too much TV. I thought about how in movies the conquered peoples are “reeducated” by their conquerors. Told you, too much TV. The reality is that the building belongs to a car dealership and the used cars they take in get reconditioned for resale. My version is more interesting I think.

On a totally different level, I think all of us from time to time could use a bit of “reconditioning”. We get weary, worn down, worn out, etc. especially in this year of Covid. We all in one way or another are dealing with, change, loss, death, unknown, A myriad of challenges in overwhelming numbers. We all need to pull back a bit and “recondition” our hearts and minds. How do you go about reviving your heart? Something like meditation or getting away for a weekender maybe? For many of us our options are limited due to the conditions caused by Covid. For a few the constraints are less. I encourage you Beloved to be very mindful of when and how you personally need to rejuvenate or recondition yourself. Particularly if you have others that you care for. In order to do the best you can for your own Beloved one, or kids, or parents or whomever, you need to do your best for yourself first.

For me personally, an important part of my renewing for the next day is time spent with my critters. I am a sucker for the purr of my cats and the silly dancing of my dog. Being an extreme introvert as myself I tend to let out a sigh of relief when I step into my house to be welcomed by the critters. Through the evening the cats take turns coming round to get a bit of attention interspersed with the dog wanting her own attention. All of this takes place with the ever present chitter of the birds. This, for me is the perfect “reconditioning center”.

Beloved, be aware of what works for you and make it happen as best you can as often as you are able or need. You are the only you the world will ever be blessed with, so take care of yourself, Beloved. Remember to breathe. Remember to eat well. Remember to keep your body moving as much as you want or can.

Have a lovely…
