Double Tracks

Hello Beloved,

Once upon a walk with the dog I was noticing the funny tracks she left behind when her feet got wet in a puddle. She does have a bit of a hitch in her giddy up from being stepped on by another dog when she was born. The tracks were of her back foot tucked right up to the front foot, like she was walking heel to toe. For whatever reason, the tracks just tickled me.

I could just imagine if someone did not know they were dog tracks, what kind of creature could be thought up that would have a double foot on two legs? Maybe I have watched too many science fiction shows but sometimes imagining is simply fun to do. Beloved I hope you have the luxury of using your imagination for just fun sometimes. I think from time to time we, as grown-up adults, can forget to see things with childlike enthusiasm. Just think what story a child could weave with a bit of encouragement about a double footed two-legged critter out for a walk on a lovely spring day.

I do have a work of fiction in the works, so I like to think I have a fairly good imagination. Short stories are immensely fun to write. No time to get bogged down in extreme details. Just intro, punch, and the end. When life gets to be just too darn heavy, which seems an everyday occurrence these days, take a few minutes to breathe deep and imagine. Give yourself permission to go someplace in your mind where no one can bother you. I think you’ll be surprised by how a couple minute vacation can help lighten your mood and outlook. Beloved, it is good and right to take care of yourself first for a few moments every day. If you do not, how are you to give your best to others? Beloved you are worth it.

Have a lovely…
