One road, many tracks

Hello Beloved,

Many years ago, I was living as what some people refer to as a bible thumping fundamentalist. We were continually taught that there is ONLY ONE way to get to the sought-after paradise after earthly life. Thankfully, I grew out of that narrow bigoted way of thinking.

These days I tend to believe that the road to paradise is made up of many tracks held together by a common goal. I won’t pretend that I actually know much of anything about the different tracks, but I do know that there is more than a single path that can get you to the desired gateway to paradise.

Who are we as mere humans to think that we know better than the Creator? In the Bible, which is my preferred reference, The Creator answers to a variety of names that His creation calls Him. I answer to different names, I bet you do as well. Your boss calls you one thing and your Beloved calls you another and your kid calls you another I would bet.

Different tracks but the same goal, yes. I get so frustrated that people are so intolerant of things and people that are not exactly as they think is best. What is good for person A may be entirely opposed to what is best for person B. Do you understand what I am saying?

You and I can walk hand in hand on the same road and yet our specific tracks will be different.  You see things through different filters than I do. Your feet tread differently than mine do. We could be shoulder to shoulder doing the same job and yet your way of doing it would be different than mine.

Here comes the part where I ask things of you. Try the practice of keeping your opinions to yourself unless you are specifically asked to share them. Do NOT try to force your ways on to others. Just because something is good for you do not complain and b… until you succeed in getting it foisted onto others. Keep your nose as it were in your own business. Keep your df nose out of other peoples business.

Look up the story about the vineyard owner who hired day laborers to work the vines. At the end of the day the vineyard owner paid the workers their wages as they were leaving and the one who started earliest in the day complained that the one who started last and only worked an hour got the same wages as he did. He was basically told to mind his own d… business, the owner could pay whomever he wanted whatever he wanted.

When you are the owner you can make the choices you want to make, until then keep your d… mouth shut. I apologize for innuendo language, but I have very strong feelings about people minding their own business.

I am the only one who has the right and privilege to choose what I write in these posts. You are the only one who has the right and privilege to decide if you read it or not. If the words that are about to come out of your mouth will not enhance someone’s experience with you then think long and hard about keeping your mouth shut. In most cases, it is prudent to not say anything.

Think about it. Then think again about saying something before you do.

Have a lovely…
