Good day Beloved,
How does this moment in time find you? I hope you are contented with your state of being. I have been blessed lately by being able to sit and listen to birds chitter back forth with each other. I do so enjoy the sound of birds.
I know I tend to anthropomorphize everything, but I do believe I can tell when critters are happy or not. The birds will be chatting and all of sudden somebody lets out a sharp chirp, there is moment of silence and then they go back to the happy chat.
Sometimes when the pup and I are out walking during the season change either fall to winter or winter to spring, birds will congregate in a tree, and it will be filled with birds, and they can get pretty loud. Sometimes I will stand there and listen, at least until the pup tells me she wants to keep moving. I wonder if these gatherings are like people reunions.
Are they giving and getting the latest news and gossip? Are telling each other to be safe over the winter or how good it is to see them again in spring? Do they share news of a hunter kitty one block over? Do they say “we are going to Florida for the winter”?
I choose to be happy believing that things like happen in the animal kingdom. I know from experience that animals mourn. I have lost more than one critter to dying from a broken heart after their closest animal companion died. No matter what I did to help them in their grief, they chose to join their companion that went before.
We may not understand what the critters are saying to each other, but I have hope that day, when it comes my time to pass on, when I wake in that never ending sunny day, I will understand what they are saying. Beloved, next time you happen upon birds chittering, stop, take a breath, and listen for just a moment, yeah.
Beloved, have a lovely…
