As Eagles go

Good day Beloved,

The other day when the pup and I were walking we stopped to watch a pair of eagles heading to their winter home. Watching birds fly is a joy to be savored in my humble opinion.

I have been thinking how apropos it is that the eagle is our nations symbol. The eagle is a predator. I think it should be the symbol for all the human race. “We the people”, all the human race, are birds of prey, or at the very least we have the potential to be.

Like the eagle, people are at the same time beautiful and dangerous. Sometimes we are blessed to see more of the beautiful than the dangerous. Looking at the big picture of all people, that is not the case I think.

I am so grateful that I live where I do because I have the luxury of assuming I will be safe when I leave my home. That I will be safe at my workplace. That as a woman I have the luxury and privilege of having a workplace to go to. That I do not wake in fear or fear to sleep. Sadly, there are way too many people that are not able to say things like this than can say them.

I love my country in spite of all its flaws. I do however get angry when people choose to run off at the mouth with an abundance of negativity and muck. Oh, and how dare I say such a thing because don’t I know it is their right to freedom of speech.

I also have that freedom and I choose to use it to say, “if you don’t like it, leave or shut up”. I know, I am not a very tolerant person. This is my blog and I get to say what I want to.

I think I shall be done ranting for now Beloveds. Next time you are blessed to watch eagles fly, keep your mouth shut because you never know what might come falling out of the sky.
