Hello Beloved, ok so this week I have been contemplating purity. Mostly in regards to ethnicity. You know when I was growing up I was always given the impression that my family was 100% German in heritage. A few years ago I did one of the many DNA tests and when the results came back I was rather disappointed. My spouse claimed 100% Norwegian, again not true. Turns out I have more Belgian DNA than German, how about that. My Norwegian spouse carried Irish and Scottish DNA.
I have heard many times over the years that the majority of people worldwide have some Neanderthal DNA floating around inside our skins. How can anyone, anyone say that they are pure __________ fill in the blank. We may think that our family traditions and the culture we identify with are without outside influences but if we look a little bit we will see how false that idea is.
I know I am probably treading on dangerous ground here but I also think what I am saying is true. Most food traditions, holiday traditions, etc. have influences from different cultures at some point along the way of developing and practice.
